Aubrac Plateau – 36km

Less than 3 km from the campsite, don’t miss the medieval village of Sainte-Eulalie-d’Olt, listed as one of the “Most Beautiful Villages in France”, and the Château de Peyrelade, offering spectacular panoramic views of the Tarn gorges. Not far from here, the Aubrac plateau and the village of Aubrac promise a wealth of regional walks and discoveries. In winter, for the lucky ones, the Brameloup ski resort lets you put on your skis and enjoy a few runs.
Canoeing, paddling and climbing with Avenga, departing from the campsite. A multi-sports field is at your disposal. You can visit the Roquefort cellars, the St Hubert in Gages immerses you in its animal park with more than 150 animals in semi-freedom, Micropolis the kingdom of insects, the Millau viaduct and the town of Conques will fill you with wonder.
Our burons, traditional stone buildings covered in slate or lauzes perched on the Aubrac plateaux, will welcome you to taste the famous aligot sausage in an authentic and friendly atmosphere. You’ll be able to experience tripoux breakfasts, and eat or even make farçous, the succulent speciality that’s the scent of the markets. We’ve also got a sweet treat in store, with our aveyronnais cake: the fouace, which will delight young and old alike for breakfast and afternoon tea.

The Tango festival, trails like the Trans Aubrac, the transhumance or the herds of decorated cattle climb from the surrounding valleys onto the Aubrac plateau and spend the whole summer in the green pastures before coming down again in October.
A digestive stroll is in order. Here, too, we follow Philippe’s invaluable advice: the “Les rives d’Olt” trail, an itinerary for discovering the river. We’re off on a 3 km family trail from one bank of the Lot to the other. You can also take advantage of the discovery trails to walk to Aubrac and discover areas as far as the eye can see.
