Nestled on the picturesque banks of the River Lot, in the heart of the verdant valley of Saint Geniez d’Olt, Camping Rives d’Olt et Aubrac’s location is ideal for exploring the surrounding natural wonders such as the Aubrac mountains, the Lot valley, the Tarn gorges and the Grands Causses, offering countless opportunities for hiking and excursions. Nearby, don’t miss such must-sees as the Roquefort caves, the famous Millau viaduct, the Abbatiale de Conques, and the charming village of Laguiole, famous for its knives.

Aubrac Plateau – 36km
The Aubrac plateau on the Aveyron side of France is an invitation to discover an unspoilt and authentic natural environment. Explore its vast green expanses, punctuated by charming villages with stone-built houses. Taste the delights of local gastronomy, meet passionate craftsmen and let yourself be charmed by the tranquillity and raw beauty of this enchanting landscape.

Less than 3 km from the campground, don’t miss the medieval village of Sainte-Eulalie-d’Olt, listed among the “Most Beautiful Villages of France,” and the Château de Peyrelade, which offers spectacular panoramic views of the Tarn Gorges. Not far from there, the Aubrac Plateau and the village of Aubrac offer plenty of opportunities for walks and exploring the region. In winter, if you’re lucky, the Brameloup ski resort will let you strap on your skis and enjoy a few runs.
Canoeing, paddling and climbing with Avenga, departing from the campsite. A multi-sports field is at your disposal. You can visit the Roquefort cellars, the St Hubert in Gages immerses you in its animal park with more than 150 animals in semi-freedom, Micropolis the kingdom of insects, the Millau viaduct and the town of Conques will fill you with wonder.
Our burons—traditional stone buildings topped with slate or lauzes, perched on the Aubrac plateaus—will welcome you to sample the famous aligot sausage in an authentic and friendly atmosphere. You can enjoy tripe-based lunches, eat—or even make—farçous, delicious specialties that fill the markets with their aroma. Sweet treats also take center stage with our Aveyron cake: the fouace, which will delight young and old alike at breakfast and snack time.

The Tango festival, trails like the Trans Aubrac, the transhumance or the herds of decorated cattle climb from the surrounding valleys onto the Aubrac plateau and spend the whole summer in the green pastures before coming down again in October.
A digestive stroll is in order. Here, too, we follow Philippe’s invaluable advice: the “Les rives d’Olt” trail, an itinerary for discovering the river. We’re off on a 3 km family trail from one bank of the Lot to the other. You can also take advantage of the discovery trails to walk to Aubrac and discover areas as far as the eye can see.
